Oil Reserves

Why drill into Alaska when we can own the middle east?

The map above was taken from Andrew Sullivan @ The Atlantic. It shows the world's countries based on the size of their oil reserves. Is it any wonder we keep going back to the middle east?

Yeah, but James, think about this. In the very near future, instead of fueling up with "Regular" or "High-Octane", it will be "Tyson" or "Perdue". There is a biodeisel facility in Georgia fueled by mostly chicken shit and chicken and animal byproducts. Now, think about it - instead of horsepowered engines, it will be cluckpower. Is it any wonder all my recent posts on a few boards regarding Tyson have been pulled? I mean, I wasn't even censored about making fun of the FBI on the Internet. But Tyson??? More powerful than the FBI? Dunno, maybe they're worried Pamela Sue Anderson will get wind of it.

BUT - this is being done on the pretense of being fuel independent from the Middle East. However, none of Tyson's chickens are raised in the US. So instead of fuel-dependent on the Middle East, we will now become hen-dependent on Argentina. From the frying pan into the fire - or should I say from extra crispy to flame broiled? Whatever.
