How about that? A water condensor on a pratical level, not only would we be conserving our water supply, but at the same time we would be conserving energy because these units can double as an AC unit at the same time.

COST OF PRODUCING WATER
"The water generators have 3 units that use electricity
1. Chill water compressor (optional)
2. Hot water tank (optional)
3. Dehumidifier
The chill water and the hot water tank are optional. They do not produce the water. For our calculations of cost we will use only the dehumidifier. The dehumidifier is the only unit used in actually producing water. The dehumidifier uses 600 watts of power per hour. (.6KW/Hr. )
To calculate the cost of making one gallon of water you simply need to know three things.
1. Cost of electricity in your area. ($.??/KW/Hr.)
2. Dehumidifier electricity use. (.6 K/W/Hr.)
3. Number of hours needed to fill the tank ( 5 Gallons ).
(This varies with the level of temperature and humidity)
Time to fill tank at different Humidity/Temperature levels.
1. High (6 hrs.)
2. Moderate (11hrs.)
3. Low (20 hrs.)
We will use the cost of electricity in the Los Angeles area as an example.
Los Angeles Electricity cost. ( $.09 /KW/Hr. )
We will calculate the cost of making one gallon of water in the L.A. area under Moderate Temperature/Humidity.
1. Cost of Electricity in L.A. ( $.09/Kw/Hr.)
2. Dehumidifier Electricity use. (.6/KW/Hr.)
3. Temperature/Humidity. (11 hours Moderate)
The Formula Dehumidifier Cost of Electricity X Area Cost of Electricity X Hours to Fill Tank = Cost to Fill Tank with 5 gallons of water.
.6/KW/Hr. X 11 hours X .09 KW/Hr. = Cost of Full Tank ( 5 Gallons)"
So that turns out to be 59 cents for 5 Gallons of fresh purified water, come on people, join the revolution!
