Parents 10 commandments for 2008
- Do not let your children talk to you in a demeaning way, especially when they use cursewords doing it.
- Do not let them password protect their computer and not let you know it.
- Do not back down from them when they're confronting you and getting in your face over you trying to wake them up at 3pm in the afternoon to get the password from #2, especially if they're jobless and are only on a computer using P2P programs all day long (Or warcrafting.)
- Do not let them use myspace.com if they're under 16, xpeeps.com (The pr0n industrys' myspace) if they're under 18 (21 in some areas,) and keep a lookout for sites like xtube.com and pornotube.com (YAY FREE pr0n!)
- Make them watch Disney's Goofy Driving Lessons cartoons when they're learning how to drive.
- Yes people are out to get your children online, no you aren't crazy for wanting to protect them, yes you are annoying when you demand that I do it all for you, yes this would cost you around $150 for in house support from a pc pro, no you aren't paying me to do that much for you. So don't give me heck when I don't have the answers for you.
- Do not give your child a cellphone until they've had their drivers license for a year, and then, only give them one that can dial 911 or your number, and no text messaging. Also make sure it doesn't have a camera on it.
- You don't want to know what your kids are doing with that webcam and their IM's. So don't ever give your kids a webcam.
- If you don't keep up with technology yourself, especially that which your children know and love, you will have many misunderstandings with catastrophic consequences.
- Don't let your children study in America

Oil Reserves
Why drill into Alaska when we can own the middle east?

The map above was taken from Andrew Sullivan @ The Atlantic. It shows the world's countries based on the size of their oil reserves. Is it any wonder we keep going back to the middle east?

Not my computer again? 4real?
"A guy the other day walked me through it just fine"
This is a different issue, the other day was because your network was being set up the first time.
"Why can't you help me do that now?"
Because it's a different issue, this time your wireless card in your laptop is turned off. This is resolveable by either turning it back on, or contacting your manufactuer for assistance if you don't know how to turn it back on.
"But the other day a guy did it just fine!!!"
Yes, because that was a different issue.
"But he did it in like 5 seconds"
Yes, because that was a different issue.
"But..."
Yes, because that was a different issue.
"How do I turn my wireless back on?"
I don't know, that's on your pc that you own, not all laptops are the same, my wife's is a button dead top center on the keyboard, my friends is on the side with an up and down switch. If you don't know where it is on your new laptop, plese contact the OEM for support.
"You are very mean and rude, and very unhelpful."
I'm sorry you don't know everything about your brand new laptop you spent two thousand dollars on, but that's outside my abilities. Not all laptops are the same, please read your instructions or contact your OEM for support, would you like to buy Charter Music?

"I'm getting a malfunction error on my anti-virus"
That usually means you have something else installed that is conflicting with it.
"But it's been this way for years!"
Even so, something is conflicting now. Imagine a car radiator, it starts corroding from the cheap anti-freeze you put in, and pushes some rust and metal through the lines. It's been like this for years, but now suddenly your car is making noises and over heating. Is this the car manufactuer's fault for building the radiator at these specs, or is it because of the stuff you've been putting in it?
So apperantly Toyota is nearly as bad as Ford when it comes to "Quality is Job #1."
So how about Japanese Whaling Season? Back in full force already, all for "Scientific" research. So scientific in fact, that it's the World's Greatest Taste Test!
They just posted for HSI Supervisors, unforutnately I've only been in VAS for 2 months, to qualify to apply for Supervisor you have to have been in your current position for a minimum of 6 Months. Those bastards.
::Update 12:18 PM:: How in the hell can you not have a Phone near the PC in todays day and age??!?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Love, Love is a verb, love is a doing word, Love can't be free It must be worked for.

Anonymous comments
Hi, I disabled anonymous comments a while ago because someone kept posting me stuff about my ex Amanda, and I just kept deleting them. It's not that I hate her or don't want to know if she's okay or anything, but if you're going to post, then please do so stating who you are? Also, sexual things about her are completely unnecessary okay?
I have purposefully distanced myself from her and from being in communication with her for some time now, and I really don't want to re-initiate that contact at this time. If we do begin communicating again, I would like it to be on better terms and conditions than what it appears you are trying to introduce Mr./Ms. Anonymous.
I'm also sure she reads this site of mine as well, since she seems very keen on always knowing what's going on with people she knows on LJ, MySpace, etc.. even if they're not marked as her friend or anything of the sorts.
Amanda, please find out who is doing this and ask them to stop, if there's ever a chance you would like to have some sort of communication/friendship down the line, then this is a must. If you're not so concerned about it, then don't worry and I'll just keep deleting the comments when I turn anonymous back on somewhere down the line. They keep coming from one of two/three IP addresses, and if I was industrious enough, I could find out exactly who and where they were coming from, but it's not worth my time to do this.
Lastly, anonymous comments are for the weak who are afraid to show who they truly are, and why they feel this way or that way. Being anonymous doesn't spark change, it's only those who stand up and fight in the face of all ridicule and publicity that can incite the masses and change the system.
