James Washington Dead!

James Washington has died after falling off a bridge while fishing as can be read in this article here.

Now, it's not the same James Washington you all know and love, the great football player, it's also not the probably only non-black James Washington you know. He is still very much alive, praise Allah. Chicken-Pot-Pie.. DID YOU HEAR ME?? I SAID CHICKEN...POT....PIE!!

Anna Lies @ Wicks'

The night before last (Saturday), Norma and I attented a friends show at Wick's on Dixie. We were there to see Anna Lies mainly, but some other performers there were most execellent. We enjoyed Thoms Medicine inparticular with their sillyness and mad skillz in performance and play capability.

I also did take some photos which are available here. I'm also emailing some of these photos to the production company that managed this show in addition to the bands I knew performing. That's all for now, I'll give a Scorecard update a lil later in the day :)

Neu kind of Neutron Star?

Rare dead star found near Earth

Scientists discovered what may be a new type of Neutron star possibly as close as 250 light years! Speed of light is as follow: 1,079,252,848.8 km/h as the distance light travels in a vacuum in 1/299,792,458 of a second. The approximate value of 3×108 m/s is commonly used in rough estimates. In imperial units, the speed of light is 983,571,056 feet per second, which is about 186,282.397 miles per second, or roughly one foot per nanosecond.

This new Neutron star has been named Calvera, after the bad guy from the psuedo-western The Magnificent Seven. This is mostly an inside joke for astronomers as the seven previously known isolated neutron stars are known collectively as The Magnificent Seven.

This one, located in the constellation Ursa Minor, seems to lack some key characteristics found in other neutron stars though. According to Dr Rutledge (McGill University, Montreal Canada) there are no widely accepted alternative theories to explain objects such as this that are bright in X-rays and faint in visible light.

If confirmed, it would be only the eighth known "isolated neutron star" - meaning a neutron star that does not have an associated supernova remnant, binary companion, or radio pulsations. "Either Calvera is an unusual example of a known type of neutron star, or it is some new type of neutron star, the first of its kind," said Dr Rutledge.

Oh, and btw, it's never too early in the morning for Science!

Dweezil Zappa in Louisville!!

I figured I'd actually get around to posting this now lol, started it the day after the show but forgot to post it as Blogger was having issues that day.

Fucking awesome!

that is all I can say about this performance.

Dweezil Zappa playing his dad's music, with the help of some old friends, including the guitar GOD Steve Vai! Unfuckingbelievable! This took place on Wednesday, 12/13/2006.

This, by far, was the best concert experience and show I've ever had the pleasure of attending, and Dweezil has hopes of making this a yearly thing, I can't wait. Even if they don't hit my hometown next year, I will travel to see this show, every time, it's that damn good.

While I'm at it, I highly recomend everyone go out and pick up any Dweezil Zappa or Frank Zappa or Steve Vai albums that they can get their hands on. Not that anyone reads this 'ere "Blog" (God, I hate that term) but hey, it's worth a try, support and promote those that you love and cherish, and the phenomenon will only grow stronger.

All for now, ciao!

Paris Hilton exposed!

In my many wanderings around looking for interesting things on the net, I decided to brush up on some of my Celebrity gossip rss feeds (Some of which can occasionally be seen on the new Google Shared Feed link under Accessories to the right,) and found out Paris Hilton either just doesn't care, is forgetful, or is actually poor but good at hiding it.

The following is taken from Paris Exposed.

As Paris Hilton was moving from one Los Angeles mansion to another mansion, the heiress beauty to the Hilton Dynasty, filled a 6,000 square foot storage facility with TONS of ALL her personal belongings.

And then - the unimaginable happened. Believe it or not, this filthy rich heiress failed to pay her storage bill of $208. After repeated attempts to contact her and collect their payment from Paris failed, the contents of the now Famous Storage Unit were auctioned off to the highest bidder. She didn't even show up to bid at the auction.

The Heiress lost ALL the contents and ALL the rights to everything in the Storage unit.

So this company bought up all they could, including various sex tapes, letters, drivers licenses, police reports, etc.. etc.. and since this property is technically no longer Paris' they posted it all online for the world to see.

This reminded me about our storage unit, no there are no sex tapes, just a couch, boxes of clothes, and other miscellaneous items, and our unit is 6x12. How the hell did Paris get a 6,000 square foot storage unit for a lil over 200 bucks, while we're paying 98 for a 6x12?? Why aren't there massive units like that around here for that same price? Shit, I'm not a celeb, I can't afford this much regularly monthly, I want to know why mine costs so much and hers doesn't with it being nearly 20 times larger?

Anywho, I'm hungry, need to clean, cleanup, and shave and shower and all that Jazz. Someone should contact me with something interesting, I got a whole other day left before I go back to work, thrill me people.

Leaders need apathy too!

I was working here the other day, and the above picture courtesy Fred Nurk, suddenly made 185% sense.

Maybe I should just start being apathetic towards my customers, both internally and externally. Go Me! Bow down to me! Repsect Thy Masta!

I was browsing around the intargnats the other day, and some friends of mine in NC who are involved with an adult myspace type site (So adult, you almost feel seedy for browsing it http://www.xpeeps.com) and they pointed me in the direction of a direct competitor for their http://www.pornotube.com site called http://www.xtube.com . I asked them why, if they already were using Xblank names, why they didn't think of xtube or xporn or something like that first lol, they said "I know, we so should have!" we then proceeded to kill eachother in warcraft some more. FOR THE HORDE!

This Shrek cup sitting in front of me is disturbing me.

CBS promotes child labor!

You go CBS with your new hit show Child Nation! Too bad there's a bunch of people who say you're promoting child labor, those losers lol.

so.. get this... Per our precall policy, customer only has to answer one precall to verify they are home right? Well, dispatch has taken it upon themselves now to make a call once, if the customer doesn't answer it's cancelled, but if they do answer, then they tell customer we'll call again on the way there, if customer missed this on the way call, even though they answered one precall already, the w/o will now be cancelled. In addition our leads will not contact dispatch regarding the issue because dispatch notes show no answer on *A* precall and that's why the order was cancelled. This is thusly violating our own precall policy in that if customer answers one call we're guranteed to be out, no matter how many hours later it is, even if we call them to say we'll be late and the don't answer that call, we are still supposed to go out since they answered at least one call already.

Our leads won't even call on it since Dispatch is boss, even though it is blatently violating our own policies regarding precalls, how lame.

Matter of fact, the lead I had, who I will not name, because I do normally have good experiences with him, told me "It's sunday, dispatch closed the order due to precall, they won't do anything now, you will have to reschedule."

Oh well, another Charter customer bites the dust due to our lacksidasial dispatch and field techs. I understand we may not always enter a proper trouble call or enter it for reasons we should, but don't let the customer suffer for a call center rep's mistakes, instead just file a complaint with your superior an dlet it roll downhill to that rep. It's not the customers fault at all, so they don't deserve the poor treatment we give them, especially the ones who really need the help but don't get it because you didn't want to do your job because you feel we're sending you out for no reason.

You know what? Many people have asked me about my Labret piercing over the years, such as where I got it done at, why I did it, and did it hurt? More on those in a minute, but first, a cheap and easy way to get a Labret done.

I had mine done at Tattoo Charlie's on Preston Highway, I did it because I was bored and wanted to get something pierced that wasn't popular (Back when I had it done, it wasn't, 1997.) It didn't hurt at all, until the next day when I tried to eat something and bit down on it. Yes, I would do it again, yes I'd like to get more done, no I don't have any Tattoo's, don't ask me why because I don't have an answer why I don't, I just haven't had any ink done. One of these days I will, when I find the right artist and the right piece. I have millions of ideas, but none that I've felt comfortable with a year later. AND HELL NO! Porn>Calenders

If you're datebook/calendar, that contains references to everything in your life, that dictates everything that you do in your existence. If this is only available in an online form, then it's you're own damn fault for not knowing your availability to have a tech come out.

Google Calender is a good system I admit, and so are several hundred others, but if everything to do is completely dictated by that, then you just need to go DIAF. I organize my plans and life events and bills using an online calender, but I also have a paper backup. In addition I just flat out know when I'm available and not available to do events, functions, parties, cheezits and Zaboomafu.

Local bigots close adult oriented book store.

How sad that you must spend your whole life trying to close something down that the majority of people want open. Why don't you just go back to your non-sexual wife, or go molest that boy in the choir that you know you've had the urges to do since he was 3 years old.

Besides, you shut this down, people who buy from that store will just bring their business, including gas purchases and food, to another part of town, or not even bother to leave the house and just shop exclusively online. So by closing this one place down, who are you really hurting? Not the one you shut down since they can easily go and sell their wares online or open in another location more accepting of those who choose to purchase items to "enhance" their personal lives. Instead, those of you who are stand up right-winged Christians or extreme left-wing feminists, I have to tell ya, this whole scheme of yours is actually hurting the surrounding businesses.

"I travel!"

So?

Seriously, so what if you travel? What berring does that have on my job, your internet and getting a tech out? If you travel so often that you're not available for a tech to be out to your house to fix a simple 30 minute issue, then maybe you don't need the internet after all? If you travel so much that you'd be better off having a cellular wireless card in your laptop, then don't worry about your home internet.

Listen, I'm at this callcenter for 13 hours a day, 4 days a week, I can legally call this place my permenant residence because I'm here more often than any other place I stay. I don't need your lame excuses for why you can't be home for a field tech.

How would you like it if for your business it required you to go out to peoples residences and needed them there for it, like Roto-Rooter or a basement resealing company? What if all your clients said they can't be there for this or that day because they travel, or they can't wait for a 4 hour time frame? But hey, you know they need it taken care of ASAP due to 4 feet of water in the basement! How does that make you feel? You're loosing clients because of their own stupidity. Now look at what you just did to me here, same issue.

Clam up and take the appointment and schedule it to when it works for you, and don't blame me when you're out seeing a movie when you know this appointment is planned.

Tired but wiser for the time

After having done this job for as long as I have, and in dealing with our customers, I have realized that a majority of our customers are one time contact callers only. Majority of them just don't understand how the internet and other things work exactly. It's not their fault, it's the advertising, movies, etc.. etc.. They assume it's a flawless system always on, and when it's down, there's some geek in overall's tramping through a million wires to figure out what the pet rat unplugged.

In addition to having done this job, I've learned a lot of things about how to handle CSR's onthe line to get things done properly, how to handle myself in public in dealing with poor customer service, and how to resolve many issues with internet, phone and tv service that I might not have been so commonly fluent in before.

Now, I also realize I have an issue with getting and keeping "stuff." We overvalue stuff. That was, and still is a big problem for me when I have no money. I fell poor, and stuff seemed valuable, so almost instinctively I accumulate it. Friends leave something behind when they move, or I’ll see something as I'm walking down the street on trash night (beware of anything you find yourself describing as “perfectly good”), or I’ll find something in almost new condition for a tenth its retail price at a garage sale. And pow, more stuff. In fact these free or nearly free things weren’t bargains, because they were worth even less than they cost. It's not a matter of the value of what you acquire, it's a matter of how profitable is it to you? Be that as in re-sell value or other usefulness that derived from it. Most of the stuff I accumulate is worthless, because I don’t need it.

What I sometimes don't understand is that the value of some new acquisition isn’t the difference between its retail price and what I paid for it. It was the value I derived from it. Stuff is an extremely illiquid asset. Unless you have some plan for selling that valuable thing you got so cheaply, what difference does it make what it’s “worth?” The only way you’re ever going to extract any value from it is to use it. And if you don’t have any immediate use for it, you probably never will. This I have learned through years of going though this, and in my current still in debt at the bank situation, I found myself again striving to accumalate things to make up for my deficets.

The same thing for me applies to nic-nacs purchased during vacations. It's not the item you brought back that is the memory, it's the experiences you had that makes up your memories of the trip. A statue, a keychain, a t-shirt, none of these are memories. Sure they'll spark what you did and how you got it and where it came from, so you can bring forth those electrodes in your brain that retain the information from that trip. But is this all they're really good for? Most likely yes. that statue of the bear climbing the tree from your Yellowstone National Park vacation does no good sitting in a box, or sitting on the mantle if all it is there for is to remember the trip.

Lastly for the randomness of randomnessity, check out Pew Pew Pew! for links to some Charterieans World of Warcrack characters and their armory links.

For the love of..

God, please understand that if you can get your email, then the Internet is working. If you can't pull a website up, there is obviously something going on with you're computer or your router. HOW FREAKING HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND!??! Get the hell off my phone and think about that for a minute?

Again, another car reference...

You start it up and to start to drive, your new 30" rims begin rubbing your wheel-well and makes it practically impossible to drive. You now decide "HEY! I should call Ford and tell them to make their Escort's wheel-well bigger for me right now!" When instead you should take those unnecessary rims off and go back to something that'll fit.

I quit life

Seriously, if it's not one thing it's another with debt collectors, the IRS, the state revenue cabinet, and no matter how many hours I work, I can't get caught up to be able to pay these damned things off.

I try and I try and I try, I even go without buying food and drinks or snacks or anything and I still can't afford to pay these things off while also paying electricity and rent.

Never have an ex girlfriend, they tend to destroy credit and put you into serious debt. She can't even afford to pay off her own stuff so a lawsuit against her would be a mute point since she doesn't own anything.

If I off myself though, then all my debt goes to my wife or closest living relative being my Father, go me. Is it any wonder why people sometimes rob banks?

If I didn't have Norma, and my pets to live for I would've already done myself in by the end of this day.

I don't care..

What you say, Dial Up is not faster than a cable internet connection. If it is running faster for you on dialup, then you need up upgrade past that Windows 95 machine or get your pc checked out for viruses etc..

If you tell me that dial-up was faster, just because you want me to feel sorry for you, upgrade you for free or offer some sort of discount.. I laugh in your face. Matter of fact, I spit in the faces of those who don't want to be cool and instead try to garner sympathy from me.

Dialup = 56k max, and the "special speedbooster" thing only increases your stored Cache on the PC itself tomake it appear faster by pulling old data from the pc itself rather than fresh new content from the intargnats™.

THE JAMES HAS SPOKEN! SO YOU MUST LISTEN! AND GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY! Well.. Not all of it, I only ask for 16 Million dollars, so I can buy the land and building my call center is on, get a few more clients, sell it and then buy my own island, all within 3 weeks :)

not realistc I know, but hey, a girl's gotta dream right?

So I got to thinking about how I want to persue some different photography routes now, and one of the ideas I'm planning on doing now is instead of saying "Hire me out and pay for the time" I'm going with the plan of the client only paying for the photographs themselves, and even then offer them for half off or something. When you do your own business, you gotta lose money at first before you can make money.

Okay, again, for the millioneth time, do not ask me why we don't support your router. Look at it this way: If you buy a car, and you install an MTX 2100D amp for your 2 15" MTX RoadThunder 9500 subwoofers, and suddenly the electrical system does out on your car, who do you call? I know, call the company that made your car, cause surely it's their fault they didn't make it powerful enough to power your subwoofers! Or wait, wouldn't that be the Alternator company since the alternator isn't pushing enough amps to keep the car charged and run your stereo system? whaaa???? You I need to contact MTX for support? HOW DARE YOU TELL ME THAT SOMETHING ELSE I BOUGHT AND ADDED TO THIS IS CAUSING AN ISSUE!?!? THIS CAN NOT BE! HAVE AT YOU!!!

Could you be...

Anymore rude?

Due to technical issues pertaining to licensing and customer Information, the sale of computer equipment has been discontinued.

Do not send emails asking why. I won’t answer them. If we get it resolved, we will announce another time, if we don’t, that’s it we’re done.

Is it any wonder a majority of the time IT people like you tend to be put in the basement with little company exposure? Maybe you should take a lil humility in your job? You're not God's gift to this company in resolving issues and keeping it flowing, there's hundreds of thousands of others who could easily replace you, the only difference is between you and a lot of them though is you have a piece of paper that says you're knowledgable while many others can't afford said paper. It's just a piece of paper, and I don't think in on your deathbed it'll matter that much?

Sure, maybe I should show some humility in my rants, and extreme displeasure with dealing with some of my fellow employees and customers, but sometimes stupidity does deserve exposure.

Elevator manners

1) Do not throw your trash, food, gum, wrappers, condoms, etc.. on the floor in the elevator.

2) Do not stand right in front of the doors if you are waiting to get on. You may have 1, 4, 8 or more people trying to leave the elevator on that floor and your candy ass standing in the door way is not making it any easier.

3) Do not let loose bodily functions in the elevator, we do not want your germs and smells permeating throughout.

4) 42

5) Do not use the elevators in an emergency, duh!

6) If you spill something in the elevator, please report it to maintenance/security/the cleaning crew

7) Give me money

8) I like goths girls appearances, but hate their attitudes. Learn to be perky!

9) Cheese is wonderful

10) Don't be an idiot in the dag on elevator!!

Leads suck!

So, I was speaking with a lead the other day, made me pissed as all hell. So pissed I didn't even bother staying in chat to copy/paste it to here to ridicule her.

Customer had slow speeds, pings from me to their gateway were sometimes hitting over 1000ms, pings to the customer were 800ms average, pings to others in the gateway were all from 500-1000ms.... Everything on the traceroute and pings though were just fine up till it hits our own network, so what does a lead who knows nothing named SGRACE do? (Yes I know the leads first name, I just never post them on here) She tells me to roll a truck to swap the modem. NO BITCH! This ain't no fucking modem problem. This is an issue with the network on Charter's end.

Why are you so afraid to send me a slow speeds ticket? Is it because you're uncomfortable in your knowledge about this job? Not entirely too sure you know the who what when where how and why of certain issues and their causes and their resolutions?

You know what I did after I closed out of your pathetic chat? I went over your head, contacted the NOC directly, and they said they were aware of the issue and were already working to resolve on our end. Wanna know how I know to contact the NOC? Maybe it's because I've been working here since before you were out of high school, and know a hell of a lot more about this stuff than you. I have contact numbers to departments you've never even heard of. I rarely use them except for in instances where a sad excuse for a "Higher up" doesn't know how to do their job properly.

If it wasn't for the fact I know you were just stupid, I might've done this after speaking with you.

On the donation operation, I mnanaged to get an additional $200 from some friends, so now my bank will only be negative $40 so that means they'll cover the check to the state revenue cabinet for missed back taxes.

Oh! On a side note, I plan on going back to Cherokee for a few days in a couple weeks, if anyone wants me to pick them up some real Cheroke Indian items, prices range from $20.00 to $1000.00 depending on what you want? Pottery, dreamcatchers, moccasins, tomahawks, arrows, knives, switchblabes, pipes, etc.. etc.. Just hit the donate button on my main site under the site info, and I believe it should allow you to enter a description of what you'd like. If no one wants anything, you'll just have pictures to look foward to when I return :D

Raw Milk?

Yes Please! I'd like some Raw Milk The James said with glee!

Over the years, milk has been pastuerized for your health. Milk does have a lot of pathogens that can cause harm, but is it more dangerous to drink raw milk than it is to go walking through the Falls of the Ohio? In my opinion no.

If the cow is well taken care of, in a safe environment etc.. Then the risk of diseases is minimal compared to working in a place where someone can come in with bronchitis, meningitis, the common cold and the Plague. Hell, just living is dangerous, so why can't I partake in something I would like to drink?

Seriously, look at this, Orange Juice is pasturized to kill harmful things, but yet we consume raw oranges. We eat hotdogs and sasuages that are made from this that and the other thing, but we're concerned about a possible pathogen in raw milk? Milk that had been consumed for thousands of years without the whole worlds population dying off?

On the other hand, if anything we can do help alleviate dangerous viruses is removed from general consumption and an individual isn't careful, then all hell could break loose.

Several cases in recent years have highlighted the divisiveness of this issue, including that of Michael Schmidt, a dairy farmer in the Canadian province of Ontario. Schmidt, who runs a cow sharing operation, had his property seized in November 2006 and was charged with operating a milk plant without a license. His case gained a lot of attention when he went on a month-long hunger strike (broken only by a glass of raw milk daily) to protest the charges.

Cow Sharing you ask? Quite simply put, it's similar to the idea of car sharing. You have a group of individuals who are working together to help support a cow. Buying it's food, it's healthcare, it's land to graze on, it's over all life. With car sharing you're buying gas together, paying for vehicle maintenence, etc..

I have looked around and have not been able to find any cow-sharing oppurtunities for my area, but if any of you guys know of anything, let me know. I don't necessarily want to do that program, but I would like to have some "Raw Milk" so I can decide for myself if I like it or not, and if it's something I'd like to persue further, instead of the Government deciding what's best for my person.

The following is taken from the realmilk.com site:

"Back in the 20s, Americans could buy fresh raw whole milk, real clabber and buttermilk, luscious naturally yellow butter, fresh farm cheeses and cream in various colors and thicknesses. Today's milk is accused of causing everything from allergies to heart disease to cancer, but when Americans could buy Real Milk, these diseases were rare. In fact, a supply of high quality dairy products was considered vital to American security and the economic well being of the nation."

Is your boss horrible?

Then get him/her a Promotion!

According to a recent study, 62.4% of horrible bosses/supervisors/higher ups get promoted rather than being corrected or demoted.

So, wanna know how to advance your career at charter? Make your customers as upset as possible and guilt them into buying stuff. Then when you're a supervisor attempt to fire everyone every week that is on your team and keep information hidden from them while other supervisors are telling it how it is. Once you're a manager, make it horrid for your underlings underlings so that you're direct underlings are miserable and no longer want you for a boss. Lo and behold, you're now upper management in the corporation with a cushy job :D No worries anymore cause if they sell the company off, you'll get a nice severance deal or you'll go to the new company. GO TEAM!

"How can it be my nic?"

Quite simply, if I say your network card is fried, it is. don't ask me how, especially after I tell you it's the same as if your lightbulb that worked 1,000 times before burned out when you flipped it that last time and it stopped coming on.

How many times do I have to tell you it can just happen?

How can you be in an auto-accident when you've started your car and driven it a thousand times to the same place before? It can just happen, your tire can blow, someone else can hit you. Get over it, things just happen.

What's that? You were walking and suddenly you tripped over your own foot and twisted your ankle? How did that happen? I KNOW I KNOW!!! IT WAS ME!!! I purposefully used my telekenitic mind powers to move your other foot in the path of your stepping foot. While I did this to you, I also did it to about ten million others at the same time. How? Young padawan, this is not information you need to know, these powers are from the Dark Side.
